UNI KNOT TO IMPROVED CLINCH KNOT CONNECTION GUIDE Used to Tie Braided line to Fluorocarbon of Larger Diameter. • Overlap approximately 1 foot of the two lines (you will need the large tag ends).
• First tie a uni knot with the fluorocarbon. Loop the fluorocarbon next to the braid with the tag end heading toward the mainline of the braid. • Run the tag end of the fluorocarbon through the loop around both the braid and the fluorocarbon. • Cinch down the uni knot by pulling on both the mainline and the tag end of the fluorocarbon. • Now tie an improved clinch knot with the braid. Wrap the braid around the fluorocarbon 10-12 times and then put the tag end through the base of the wraps. • Now go around the fluorocarbon and pass the tag end through the big loop that was just formed.
• Tighten the clinch knot by pulling on the tag end and main line of the braid. Take care when doing this so that the coils cinch down correctly (pull up on the coils in order to keep them from overlapping one another when they cinch down).
