Used to tie braided line to fluorocarbon of larger diameter.
Albright Knot Connection Guide
Step 1
Tie a bimini in the braided line so there is a double line.
Loop the fluorocarbon around something sturdy and non-abrasive.
Step 2
Take the doubled braided line and string it along and through the fluorocarbon heading away from the end of the loop (toward the main line of the fluorocarbon).
Step 3
Now begin to wrap over the top of the fluorocarbon and the braided line that is strung along the length of the fluorocarbon. Take at least 30 wraps.
Step 4
Unhook the fluorocarbon and pass the tag end of the braid through the fluorocarbon loop that is remaining. Note that the braid must enter and leave the fluorocarbon from the same side.
Step 5
Slide the coils of the braid down to within an 1/8 of an inch of the fluorocarbon loop.
Step 6
Pull the tag end of the fluorocarbon and the main line of the braid (use a dowel or glove when tightening the braid).
Step 7
Then pull on the opposite lines, the tag end of the braid and the main line of the fluorocarbon.
Step 8
For added insurance, make a 6 turn uni knot at the top of the albright. This will ensure that the braid won't slip.
